Fronterra Group is proud to name World Vision Singapore as the beneficiary for the ‘Ultimate Dragon Tug Showdown 2008’. The World Vision Tug-of-HeartsTM is a charity element within DragonTugTM that aims to bring the community together by propelling participating teams to strive their utmost for their selected charity.
The
organisers strongly encourage corporations to pledge their donations to
our Official Charity Partner “World Vision Singapore”.
HOW IT WORKS
Participating
teams are encouraged to get their company or organization to support
them and their preferred charity in the course of the race.
The
supporting organization pledges to donate a fixed amount of $1,000 plus
a variable amount that is tagged to the team’s performance ($X
multiplied by the number of races won) during the event.
Simply
put, the company pledges to donate: $1,000 + ( $X amount multiplied by
no. of races won by the team) where the number of races ('showdowns' as
we call it here) won can range from 0 to 6 (depending on number of entries).
0 if the team loses every showdown
1 if the team beats another team in the Round-Robin stage
2 if the team beats 2 other teams in the Round Robin stage
3 if the team wins in the knockout stage
4 if the team wins the semifinals
5 if the team beats the opposing team in the Grand Finals
+1 to the above if the team wins in the Absolute DragonDare category
For example, if $500 is pledged for every showdown won, and an average team wins 2 showdowns, the total donation equals $1,000 + $500 x 2 = $2,000. Upon completion of the race, the Organiser shall update on the website all donations raised through DragonTugTM platform. Participating organizations are to mail pledges direct to their selected charity.

donation-pledge constitutes a private arrangement between the
Corporation/Organization and the indicated Charity. The organizers of
DragonTugTM are solely the facilitators for this private arrangement, and are not responsible for the actual delivery of the pledged funds.
